GR20 south refuges List
Vizzavona,
*Refuge de la gare, conventional and basic, directly accross the station.

*Hotel I Laricci, well maintained building decorated in moroccan style. Dormitory facilities as well as hotel rooms (book in advance). Meals available.

*Hotel Monte d'Oro, if you have the budget, real pleasant 19th century hotel, period furnitures, magnificent terrasse overlooking the mountain. The hotel has a restaurant that features trout, lamb or wildboar. Possible transfer to and from Vizzavona if you call.

Capanelle Refuge, a tiny ski station with functional ski lifts. You will find a selection of trekking supplies and the usual selection of drinks, hot meals, snacks.

Col de Verde Refuge, modest selection of supplies, including local charcuterie and cheese. A seasonl cafe that also operates a little refuge. Hot meals and snacks can also be purchased.

Prati Refuge, rebuild in 2000 after a fire due to a lightning stroke, well equiped kitchen, good range of supplies. This remote, open grassland among the mountain made it a place of choice for WW2 Allied to drop arms, munitions and supplies by parachute.

Usciolu Refuge, noticeably welcoming hut, magnificient view, warden with great hospitality. Shop with an excellent range of supplies (including fresh bread, postcards!).

Asinau Refuge, basic supplies, wild odorant landscape surrounding. You need to get there early if you wish to sleep outside. *10 minutes walk farther, you will also find sleeping facilities and proper mountain cooking served at the Bergeries d'Asinau.

Bavella:

* Les Aiguilles de Bavella Gite, self-catering facilities, rear terrace, corsican cuisine menus.

* Auberge du Col, five minutes walk down the Solenzara road, same that previous facilities. Take a look at the display of old pictures of the area at the wood-lined bar.

Refuge de Paliri (no supplies), situated in the center of a spectacular forest wilderness, it is an ideal spot to explore one of Corsica's dramatic landscape. Look for the art installations inspired by author St Exupery around the refuge.

La Tonelle gite at Conca. Situated at the bottom of the village, half board is obligatory from June to September. Camping possible in the garden. Transfer by minibuses to Porto Vecchio, its surroundings and Ajaccio.
